Overview

Trent has over 15 years’ experience in providing accounting and financial management expertise to the public sector, as both a consultant and a public servant.

As well as leading teams responsible for the delivery of monthly and annual financial statements and portfolio budget statements, Trent has also reviewed and provided advice on assurance frameworks for internal controls, certificate of compliance and financial statements. He has assisted a number of agencies in the project management and specification of requirements for the implementation of accounting and budgeting systems.

As the Director for Financial Systems and Management Accounting at the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Trent managed a team responsible for all aspects of budget development and budget management, management reporting and finance systems.

With qualifications in accounting and information systems, Trent has a practical understanding of financial management systems and processes and a good knowledge of ICT environments and costing approaches. Trent’s technical skills are extensive, encompassing advanced Excel (Macro and Visual Basic programming) and SAP R/3 – FICO / Assets / BW.
